Bacolod as Investment Site for Information Technology

    The Sangguniang Panlungsod passed Resolution No. 274, Series of 2005, urging the City Mayor to create a team within the Local Investment and Promotions Board focused on promoting Bacolod as investment site for Information Technology Enterprise.
     Said resolution includes tapping private individuals already involved in the IT business and also suggests the designation of the Committee on Communications and Energy of the SP as part of the team.
     The resolution was passed upon the motion of Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue jointly seconded by Councilors Greg Gasataya, Lyndon Caña and Napoleon Cordova.
     Per Resolution No. 274, the entry of IT industries in Bacolod City will generate millions of pesos in investments, spur economic development and generate thousands of jobs for the graduates in this city. It further mentioned that already there are many concerned businessmen already involved in IT in the city and they have signified willingness to help the city government in the endeavor. (CMO-PIO)
