CITYWIDE MARKET VENDORS FEDERATION ELECTS |

The Citywide Market Vendors Federation
elected their officers for Federation Year 2005 yesterday. Market
Association Officers of the North (Burgos) Public Market, the Central
Market, South (Libertad) Public Market, and the Vendors Plaza that
comprise the Federation elected their officers and participated in the
day-long Planning Strategy organized by the Office of the City
Administrator Atty. Lorendo K. Dllag. Atty. Dilag, in his opening remarks, explained the purpose of the planning and reporting strategy on the various concerns faced by all the city’s markets. Some of the concerns discussed and studied are rental, delinquent accounts, sub-leasing and renewal of lease contracts of market stalls, water supply, sanitation, security, weighing scales, parking space, extension of booths or stalls, among others. Also seen during the morning session were Councilor Lyndon B. Caña and Executive Assistant Valentin Jamelo. Atty. Dilag was also the inducting Officer for the Federation’s new net of officers. He said, “ The activity was significant because the gathering of the various market vendors associations of Bacolod was a sure sign of the cooperation and unity among the City Government and the market vendors all over the City”. The newly elected Federation Officers are; Carlo Barredo (President), Azucena Apuyon (Vice President), Efren Mangalos (Secretary) and Jun Borromeo (Auditor). In their response, they vowed to support the ongoing rebuilding process of the city under the leadership of City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia who presently chairs the Market Coordinating and Monitoring Task Force. (PiO/CMO/osb) |
