City holds Value-Adding Fishery products

   The City Agriculture Office in coordination with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-Region 6) and Office of the Provincial Agriculture Office (OPA) holds today (Sept. 14) one-day training on value-adding fishery products, today at ABC Hall.
     At least 40 Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, staffs of City Agriculture Office and Urban Basic Services Division (UBSD) undergo the training on food processing and production of squid rings, fish tocino and fish tapa.
     Executive Assistant on Agriculture Jonah Abao said the activity is part of the Poverty Alleviation Program of the present administration. He stressed this activity is conducted to help the Bacoleños cushion the impact of economic crisis in the country.
     CAO Officer-in-Charge Romeo Garcia said the activity also aims to empower Bacoleños with basic food preparation skills for them to start up a self-sustaining livelihood enterprise. * (CMO-PIO/dmg)
