CEO Reports Stealing of Feeders Line Wires

    Not even electric wires are spared from the preying hands of thieves these days.
     About 1,000 meters of 10 AWG copper wires used for the City’s tourism lights at the Bacolod-Talisay boundary were recently discovered stolen after an inspection conducted by personnel of the City Engineer’s Office.
     Bacolod City Engineer Loreto Dilag said the incident was already brought to the attention of Mayor Evelio Leonardia by Engineer Venancia Baja, who also recommended the use of ACSR wires, which does not have as much value as the AWG wires.
     Maintaining the tourism lights has always posed a major problem to the City Engineer’s Office, since the feeder line wires are constantly the target of theft as these have a reasonable monetary value. *(CMO-PIO/jmi)
