Academe Support for City Cleanliness Drive Sought

    Mayor Leonardia stressed the importance of the academe’s support and partnership with the city government during a talk before members of the faculty of St. Scholastica’s Academy on September 7.
     The city’s garbage problem, flooding, and the proliferation of vendors around the downtown area were some of the concerns raised by the teachers to the city chief executive.
     The mayor bared his administration’s efforts in addressing these concerns besetting the city.
     Mayor Leonardia assured the SSA faculty that their concerns will be discussed with the concerned departments and agencies for their respective heads to take appropriate actions.
     The Mayor assured that the administration is doing its best to address the perennial garbage problem despite the lack of dump trucks servicing the entire city. Vendors will also be regulated to decongest the streets and sidewalks at the downtown area.
     A report on the City’s fiscal position was also presented to give the faculty a glimpse of how the city government is managing its finances.*(CMO-PIO/jmi)
