The Bacolod ETCS 2 Little Leaguers grabbed the 2005 Little
League Philippine Series Title staged in /Nueva Ecija from April 28-May 8,
2005.
In a courtesy call at the office of Bacolod City
Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia the 14-player team presented the championship
trophy they brought home after sweeping 8 games of the series.

Wimar "Boy" Drilon said the victory will bring about a match
between the Bacolod Little Leaguers and a team from Guam. The game
scheduled on June 18, 2005 in Manila. Drilon said, "If the team
overpowers Guam in June, it automatically epresents the Asia-Pacific to
the 2005 World Softball Little League Series slated in Portland, Oregon,
USA on August 10-16, 2005. ETCS 2 won 3rd place in the 2004 World Series.
This is the first time the Bacolod Leaguers will
face Guam.
Drilon said, "We need the support of all
Bacoleños in our quest for the world championship. The kids are
well-motivated and in high spirits. The support extended by the Mag-anak
Association of the United States made a big difference in the morale and
performance of the players."
The equipment donated by the association based in
the US included a pitching machine, toss-ball machine, toss-ball net,
gloves and softball balls. The same group extended $500 for their trip to
Nueva Ecija.
Drilon said they sought the support and
assistance of Mayor Leonardia for their transportation to Manila in June.
If the Bacolod team wins over Guam, they will
automatically receive financial support from the Little League Baseball
based in Pennsylvania, USA in the amount of P500,000.00.
