| The Chief Executive of the city government is the City Mayor who is elected at-large by all qualified voters of the City. As Chief Executive, the City Mayor shall exercise such powers and perform such duties and functions as provided for by Commonwealth Act No. 326, otherwise known as the Charter of the City of Bacolod, Section 16 of the Local Government Code of 1991, City Ordinances and other laws. e-mail add: mayor@bacolodcity.gov.ph | ||

Mayor is bestowed with the following powers, duties, responsibilities and functions: 1. Enforcement of the City Charter and all other local ordinances and national laws. 2. Giving out approvals on all governmental projects and programs taking into account the over-all developmental growth of the city. 3. Exercise general supervision and control over all programs, projects, services and activities of the city government. 4. Enforce all laws and ordinances relative to the governance of the city and in the exercise of the appropriate corporate powers provided for under Section 22 of the Local Government Code, as well as implement all approved policies, programs, projects, services and other activities of the city. 5. Initiate and maximize the generation of resources and revenues, and apply the same to the implementation of development plans, programs, objectives and priorities provided for under Section 18 of the Local Government Code. 6. Exercise such powers and perform such other duties and functions as may be prescribed by law or ordinance. |
