FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS 


- BUSINESS PERMIT / MAYORS PERMIT -
WHO SHALL SECURE:

Any person or juridical entity who shall conduct or engage in any business, trade or occupation in Bacolod City.

WHEN TO SECURE:
  1. Anytime of the year before the start of the operation of a business - for NEW businesses.
  2. On or before January 20 of each year - for RENEWAL of permit of an existing business.
WHERE TO SECURE:
  1. One-Stop-Shop Bays Center - (2nd to 3rd Week of January Only).
  2. City Hall - (From January to December- except 2nd to 3rd week of January).
HOW TO SECURE:
  1. Pay P5.00 application fee to the License Division of the City Treasurer's Office at the ground floor of the City Hall Building and bring your official receipt tot the Permits and Licensing Division of the Mayor's Office at the 2nd floor to claim you application form;

  2. Fill-up your application form with the assistance of the staff of the Permits and Licensing Division of the Mayor's Office if needed;

  3. Secure all clearances from pertinent offices (ex. Barangay, Zoning, Health, Market, etc.) and submit your application from for encoding to the Permits and Licensing Division of the Mayor's Office;

  4. Proceed to the Assessment Section of the License Division of the City Treasurer's Office, for assessment and computation of taxes, fees and charges. Get your bill from the Billing Section and pay to the Collection Section;

  5. Proceed to the Fire Department for your Fire Clearance with your Official Receipt for payment of fire fees made to the City Treasurer's Office;

  6. Submit your business application duly together with all required documents pertaining to your business such as DTI Registration Certificate for Single Proprietor's Trade name or SEC Registration Certificate with its Articles of Incorporation in case of Corporation; and Official Receipt issued by the Treasurer's Office for payment of business taxes, fees and charges;

  7. Claim your Business Permit/Mayor's Permit on a specified time as instructed.

PENALTIES FOR LATE PAYMENTS:

A SURCHARGE OF TWENTY FIVE (25%) on the Principal Amount of the taxes, fees and charges; and an INTEREST OF TWO PERCENT (2%) per month on the Principal and on the Surcharge is added when payment is made after the due dates.

DUE DATES:
JANUARY 20 - Renewal of Business Permits and Payments of business tax for the first quarter;
APRIL 20 - Payment of the 2nd Quarter business tax;
JULY 20 - Payment of the 3rd Quarter business tax;
OCTOBER 20 - Payment of the 4th Quarter business tax.
