HISTORICAL
BACKGROUND According to the oral history the Bacolod came from "Buklod". When the buklod land was developed and became a city and later was declare as highly urbanized city, the government create and extension arms and we called it barangay level. We are very lucky as one recipient namely Barangay # 6. |

BARANGAY PROFILE Barangay # 6 composes of Seven (7) Puroks namely:

Our total land area
is 137,800 sq. mts. with 140 Sub lots, Four Sub Lots are Bank owner,
Four Sub Lots for Province of Negros Occidental, Eighteen sub Lots own
by City of Bacolod and 114 Sub Lots for private sector. One Half of the
said areas are occupied by squatters houses, 3 establishment occupants
the Carmen Cuadra Bldg., Food Terminal Market and Kadiwa of Porvince.
For religious sector we have Iglesia ni Kristo, Baptist Church and 6
Chapel for Catholic Church. Barangay # 6 has a total population of 4,736. Males are 2,211 and females are 2,527. Residents sources are: Employment from government agencies, others working in private firms and establishments some are vendors, masons and construction workers. But 30% are living thru "Remedio General" with no fixed source of income. The growth of expansion and improvement of Barangay # 6 would be Commercial Building and Government Agencies Branches both province and cities. |
