INTRODUCTION
Barangay 12 became the basic governmental unit
in the nation's political structure year 1973, Presidential Decree No.
86-86A created Barangays to provide popular participation in shaping up
public policy. All powers, functions, duties and responsibilities of
Barrios, Assembly, Councils and Officials enumerated in the revised
Barrio Charter (R.A. 3590) was assimilated by the Barangay. On December
17, 1985, City Ordinance No. 08 was created approving and adopting the
recommeded delineation of Sixty One (61) Barangays in the City of
Bacolod.

LAND
AREA / LOCATION
Barangay 12 is one of the Urban Barangay which
is geographically located within the heart of the City Proper wherein
big commercial establishments abound. It has a total land area of 8.0763
hectares. Under our jurisdiction, it is formed a letter J Barangay which
consist of Two (2) Puroks namely Purok Malipayon and Purok Masinadyahon.
It is bounded on the Northwest by Barangay 10, on the East is Barangay
21, passing along Gonzaga - San Juan Streets. On the North, along Rizal
- Lacson Streets is Barangay 11 and on the Southeast along Locsin Street
is Barangay 37, and on the Southwest is Barangay 13 along Luzuriaga -
Locsin Streets. The fanous 'Manokan Country' can also be found in the
Barangay native delicacy of the residents of Bacolod.

SOCIAL
WELFARE
Barangay 12 has one (1) Day Care Center located
below it's Barangay Hall. The Day Care Center catering the needy
pre-school children and families with the assistance of the Department
of Social Services and Development (DSSD), the Barangay Nutrition and
Health Scholar.

HEALTH
The health of the residents of Barangay 12, is
one of the main program of the Barangay. Most of it's indigent
residents especially children suffer from all forms of malnutrition due
to lack of food and proper sanitation.
