With Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia in Malacanang Palace to receive the 2005 Apolinario Mabini Awards, Local Government Unit Category, for Bacolod City were (left to right) President of the Association of Disabled Persons (Negros Occidental), Jose Johann Manoso, President of Association of Disabled Persons Bacolod City, Inc., Carmen Salazar, Bacolod City SPED Principal, Ms. Salazar, was recipient of the Mabini Presidential Award for her valuable contributions in the education of the disabled in Bacolod and Chairperson of City Council for the Welfare of Disabled Persons, Ms. Anne Marie Palermo. The awarding ceremony was held at the Heroes Hall of Malacañang Palace, March 24, 2006.

For advocacy and enhancement of PWDs in the City, the ADP-Bacolod represented by the President Jose Johann Manoso donated 18 gallons of traffic paints to the Bacolod City Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) as represented by Mr. Edgardo Agtoto intended for the PWD pedestrian alley and access ramps, as witness by Mr. Alexander R. Coloso, Sectoral Concerns Office Head.

Arnold Ardosa an (OH) orthopaedically handicapped, received a special chair from the Association of Disabled Persons-Bacolod City., Inc. The donation was represented by the President Jose Johann G. Manoso and the Vice-President Lowell Raner.  

Last October 22, 2006, Mr. Shigeki Mori of the World Gateball Union made an actual demonstration on how to play gateball to the PWDs of Bacolod City, this was assisted by Mr. Grace Horii, P.R.O. of the Department of Tourism based in Japan.

The Association of Disabled Persons-Bacolod City, Inc. President Jose Johann G. Manoso, presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Shigeki Mori,Deputy General Manager of World Gateball Union for the first time he contributed the new sport of Gateball to the PWDs of Bacolod City.
