forty one schools in Bacolod City have endorsed the plan of Mayor Evelio
R. Leonardia to construct a new city hall building at the vacant lot owned
by the city government adjacent to the City Engineer’s Office along
Taculing Road.
The resolutions passed by officers and faculty
members of 41 schools stated that they strongly support and endorse the
city mayor’s plan to construct the building the soonest time possible.
It further stated that it is important for the city to accommodate
and service the growing needs of the Bacoleños and where the policy of a
“one-stop-shop” concept of service can be effectively implemented.
The 41 schools include: Bacolod SPED Center, I.
Nessia Sr., Elem School, Don Crispino V. Ramos Elem School, Sum-ag Elem
School, ISLA Elem School, Rafael Alunan Elem School, Villa Esperanza Elem
School, Fernando F. Gonzaga Elem School, A. Mabini Elem School. Arceo Elem
School, Patricia Homes Elem School, R.A. Medel Sr. Elem School, Luis B.
Puentevella Elem School, D.A. Montelibano Elem School, Don Jose R. Torres
Elem School, Vista Alegre Elem School, A.L. Jayme Elem School, A.
Bonifacio Elem School, ABES II, Banago Elem School I, Banago Elem School
II, Mandalagan Elem School, Mandalagan Elem School, ABKASA Elem School,
Rizal Elem School, Fr. Gratian Murray Integrated School, Asuncion L.
Lizares Elem School, Doña Emelia Garcia Elem School, D.C. L. Montelibano

The above schools also claimed that the existing
City Hall building is now old and needs a substantial amount to refurbish
or rehabilitate as its design has become obsolete and small by today’s
standards. They further added
that there is a need to relocate, construct a new City Hall building to be
more responsive to the needs of a bigger, more progressive and
highly-urbanized city like Bacolod.
