INTERVENTIONS AND COMMUNITY THERAPY FOR PAROLEES REPORTED TO THE CITY ANTI-DRUG ABUSE COUNCIL

      The Parole and Probation Officer II Leni Ann Maido of the Bacolod City Police Office reported on the implementation of interventions and community therapies conducted for parolees and probationers in the city, during the recent meeting of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council.
     Maido said they have conducted Therapeutic Community Programs on behavior sharing categories and spiritual and vocational survival.  They have also conducted monitoring and surveillance in the form of home visitations in the residences of parolees  and have coordinated with law enforcement agencies like the PNP and barangay officials and tanods in case conferences with families of parolees.
     The PPO has also conducted community advocacies – information drives making the community aware of the ill-effects of drugs. Maido said that at present they have 470 cases majority of which are drug-related.
    
On the other hand, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Officer-in-Charge SPO4 Joselito Lapinig, in his report to the CADAC, said that shabu is still the number 1 drug of choice among the local drug dependents.  At present, the PDEA has conducted 49 operations with 59 drug personalities arrested and a total of 50 cases filed in court.  (CMO-PIO/CADAC)
