Bacolod Public Encouraged to Display Philippine National Flag

     The Sangguaniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City approved a resolution encouraging the heads of offices/agencies/administrators/managers and owners of public and private buildings including malls in the city to display the Philippine Flag in observation of the Flag Day for June 1, 2005 to June 15, 2005 and the celebration of the Independence Day.
     Philippine Independence Day is celebrated every 12th of June of each year.
     Resolution No. 451 was approved by Sangguniang Panlungsod upon motion of Councilor Dindo C. Ramos and jointly seconded by Councilors Napoleon A. Cordova and Catalino T. Alisbo.
     The resolution states that it is inherent upon every citizen to be proud of our national flag, which is the symbol of our country.
     It is suggested as per Memorandum Circular of the Department of Interior and Local Government to encourage all private/public company buildings including malls and private homes to display our Philippine flag.
     Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia has appointed Councilor Al Victor Espino to chair the Independence Day Celebration and the latter has created different committees in preparation for the event. (CMO-PIO/rdp)
